Connect a loved one

  1. Install WayliLoc

From the App Store on iPhone and iPad, or from Google Play on Android.

  2. Sign in or create an account

With email and password, Google or Facebook — on iPhone also with Apple. No confirmation email is needed.

Later, always sign in the same way you signed up: a different method can create a second, empty account.

  3. Allow location and notifications

On the “Set up permissions” screen, allow what the app asks for:

    • iPhone location — “Always”, plus push notifications.
    • Android location — “Allow all the time”, plus “Background activity” and push notifications.

Notifications bring you SOS signals and location updates. The microphone is optional: it is only used for sound during your own SOS.

  4. Connect with a code

Ask the person you want to see to open “My circle” → “My code”, tap “Generate code” and send you the code with “Share”. Then, on your phone, open “My circle” → “Connect device”, enter the code and tap “Connect”.

Whoever enters a code sees its owner — the connection is one-way. To see each other, do the same the other way round. A code works once and is valid for 24 hours.

Connect a child

The child gets a simple screen — no email or password. You'll need both phones: first yours, then the child's.

  1. On your phone: get a code for the child

Open “My circle” → “Add child”, tick the box confirming you are the child's parent or guardian and tap “Get a code for the child”. The code is valid for 24 hours.

  2. On the child's phone: enter the code

Install WayliLoc, choose “I have a code from a parent” on the start screen and type the child's name. Then enter your code on the “Enter your parent's code” screen and tap “Connect”.

  3. Allow location on the child's phone

    • iPhone location — “Always”.
    • Android location — “Allow all the time”, plus “Background activity”.

The microphone is optional: it is only used for sound during the child's SOS.

  4. Done

The child appears on your map and in “Menu” → “My circle” → “I track” with the “Child” label. Another parent or relative gets their own code via “Add child” and enters it on the child's phone in “Settings” → “Add a parent”. Up to 10 parents and relatives can be connected.
